SAWGRASS LAKE RESTORATION PROJECT - PINELLAS PARK, FL

Woodruff & Sons, Inc. has contracted with the South West Florida Water Management District for site improvements at the Sawgrass Lake Park in Pinellas Park, Florida. This project includes site preparation, lead shot remediation, lake dredging, wetland creation treatment area, storm water control structures, and site restoration. AS a part of the same project Woodruff & Sons, Inc. will relocate a 36" diameter water transmission main for the City of St. Petersburg. This will require removing a section of reinforced concrete pressure pipe (RCPP) installed in 1929 and rerouting with approximately 1300 lf of prestressed concrete cylinder pipe (PCCP). The duration of the entrie project(s) is approximately 2 years.

US 301 ROADWAY IMPROVEMENTS

altWoodruff & Sons, Inc. was recently selected as the contractor for the much-anticipated highway expansion and improvement project in the rapidly growing Parrish, FL area. The project, which started in April 2009, includes widening 4.5 miles of U.S. 301 and adding turn lanes from the south end of Erie/Old Tampa Road to Rutland Road (CR 675), incorporating new storm water facilities, water mains, force mains, bicycle lanes, sidewalks, curb and gutter, signalization, and street lighting. The dollar value of this project is over $21,000,000.00. The length of time for the project is 600 days with scheduled completion in November 2010.

DREW PARK CRA PHASE 2, GRADY AVENUE

Woodruff & Sons, Inc. is contracted with the City of Tampa to construct Drew Park Phase 2, Grady Avenue. The Project comprises of constructing five blocks of new infrastructure along Grady Avenue from Crest to MLK. Being an active industrial area Woodruff & Sons is installing new water main, sanitary sewer, storm water facilities, sidewalk, and curb and gutter with little disruption to the local businesses. Woodruff & Sons is collaborating with multiple reputable companies to meet the Small Local Business Enterprise goal established by the City of Tampa for this project.

RIVER ROAD AND US 41 INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS

Sarasota County has awarded Woodruff & Sons, Inc. the job to construct River Road and US 301 Intersection Improvements. Starting in October 2012, this project consist of widening 3,000 linear feet on River Road, milling and repaving US 41, excavating two sizable ponds, installing new storm water facilities, and installing new signing, striping, signalization, and lighting. One obsticale on River Road and US 41 is constructing an efficient project while not interrupting the tens of thousands of vehicles traveling through that intersection each day.

BRADEN RIVER UTILITIES / CITY OF BRADENTON RECLAIMED WATER INTERCONNECT PROJECT PHASE II

Woodruff & Sons has been contracted to install 3.8 miles of 20 inch Reclaimed Water Main. The installation is comprised of 8,500 linear feet of 20" PVC by method of open cut and 11,800 linear feet of 20" Fusible PVC by method of directional drill. The pipeline is an integral part in facilitating Lakewood Ranch with treated water from the City of Bradenton. Construction for Phase II is expected to start in summer of 2013 with a substantial completion of 270 calendar days.

44TH AVENUE EAST - FROM US 41 TO 19TH STREET COURT EAST

Woodruff & Sons is contracted to construct the first phase of the expansion of 44th Avenue with Manatee County. This first phase includes construction of a new three lane road from US 41 to 15th Street East and a new four lane road from 15th Street East to 19th Street East. Also included in this project are three storm water ponds, jack and boring under the existing CSX railroad, and forming and pouring a triple box culvert to cross Bowless Creek. The project is anticipated to start the summer of 2013 with a substantial completion of 720 calendar days.

FORCE MAIN REPLACEMENT 34A (26TH STREET WEST)

altManatee County awarded Woodruff & Sons with the task of replacing their existing 10", 16", and 18" Force Main along 26th Street. The project consist of roughly 7,200 linear feet of HDPE pipe to be installed via horizontal directional drill. The work takes place along 26th Street West in Bradenton and also includes installing 220 linear feet of 16" HDPE pipe via horizontal directional drill under the always busy Cortez Road. This project will require a detailed maintenance of traffic plan as well as an elaborate by-pass system to keep all utilities operational during the replacement process.

BAYSIDE COMMUNITY CHURCH BUILDING ADDITIONS & PARKING LOT EXPANSION

The ever growing Bayside Community Church needed to expand after already outgrowing their current facilities in only a couple years. The expansion includes the development of thirteen acres to accomodate a new 60,000 square foot building and parking for the patrons. alt The site work includes 3,600 linear feet of storm drain, sanitary sewer and water main connections, 6.3 acres of additional parking lot, constructionof a retention pond, as well as grading and compacting the building pad for Bayside's new facilities.

BAY STREET VILLAGE

D.R. Horton decided to team up with Woodruff & Sons to construct a new multi-family subdivision in Osprey. As the property was semi-developed years ago by a different company, this project includes removing existing utilities as well as reshaping of three existing ponds.

VILANO

Woodruff & Sons was fortunate to team up again with D.R. Horton as they acquired the former Sarasota Golf Club property. The scope of work for Vilano includes demolition of the existing golf course clubhouse, excavating more than 300,000 cubic yards of material, installing over 4 miles worth of sanitary, storm, water, and irrigation mains, and building over a mile of roadway. As the surrounding properties utilize wells and septic systems for their utilities, Woodruff & Sons will have to connect to the nearest county mains.

GASPARILLA ROAD WIDENING (CR 771)

Halfacre Construction selected Woodruff & Sons, Inc. as the road and utility contractor for CR 771 Improvements from SR 776 to Rotonda Blvd. The project consist of widening 2.5 miles of Gasparilla Road from two lanes to a new and improved divided four lane road. The utility scope of work includes installing roughly 16,000 LF of 24" & 12" Water Main, 15,000 LF of 20" Force Main, and 28,000 LF of 16" & 12" Reclaimed Water Main.

LAKE MANATEE DAM EMERGENCY REPAIRS

The dam at Lake Manatee Reservoir had developed leaks and was in need of immediate repair. The owner of the dam Manatee County, awarded the project to Hayward Baker, Inc. (HBI). HBI's approach to make the repair was to utilize a trench cutting re-mixing deep wall method (TDR). The TDR machine would trench and install an impermeable slurry wall in excess of 100 feet deep. In order for the TRD to access the work location the 3,000 linear foot dam had to be widened. Woodruff & Sons, Inc. (WSI) was selected for this task. Working on a very accelerated schedule using imported and on-site fill WSI widened the dam so the repairs could be made by HBI. Once HBI finished the repairs WSI removed the temporary fill material and restored the dam to its original shape. WSI also replaced and constructed a new maintenance road that runs on top of the dam.

CARIBBEAN VILLAGE

altWoodruff & Sons, Inc. was awarded the Caribbean Village project by D.R. Horton. Caribbean Village will be constructed over multiple phases with 189 single family lots in total. Scope of work for this project includes excavating 4 lakes, installing all water main, sanitary sewer, stormwater systems, force main, and roadways.

DEL TIERRA, PHASE 1

alt Woodruff & Sons, Inc. continues its relationship with D.R. Horton in constructing Phase 1 of Del Tierra. Located in East Bradenton, the first phase of this future development includes 149 single family lots as well as an amenity center. Phase one includes moving roughly 250,000 cubic yards of material as well as installing water main, irrigation main, stormwater system, sanitary sewer system, force main, and roadway system.
