University Town Center (2007) – Woodruff & Sons, Inc. worked with Benderson Development Corporation on the 30 acre site development work which included grading storm sewer, utilities, fire mains, curb and gutters, and paving on the new Park Place at University Park Center. We also worked across the street on the Copper Creek Office Campus and Parking .

Golden Gate Point (2010) – City of Sarasota project on Golden Gate Pointe, a 22 acre waterfront community located about one block from downtown Sarasota, where Woodruff & Sons, Inc. replaced old underground infrastructure, took other utilities underground, reduced the width of the street and changed its design so that it meandered through the development with parking situated occasionally on each side of the street, and adding new curbs and sidewalks.

St. Petersburg Drainage Project (2011) – Woodruff & Sons project includes the removal and replacement of roadway, curbs, sidewalks, concrete pipes, and driveways; and the installation of concrete box culverts, catch basins, the water treatment baffle box system, and miscellaneous adjustments and restoration.

US 301 Roadway Improvements from Erie Rd to CR 675 (2011) – Woodruff & Sons, Inc worked with the Florida Department of Transportation along with partnership with Manatee County on a 4-mile, 850 day project, that included the complete reconstruction of the 2-lane road to 4 lanes which included the installation of miles of storm water piping along with major extension of the water main and force main system, a rebuild of all other underground utilities, five Jack & Bore steel sleeve crossings, excavating drainage ponds, installation of road base and constructing cubs/sidewalks, and installation of new traffic signals.

Perico Island – After working on Perico Island in the 80s, 90s, and 2000s, Woodruff & Sons, Inc. returned to compete a project that had been placed on hold. The onsite work included installation of all the utilities, grading, roadwork, sidewalks and general site development all while no disturbing the sensitive wetlands and wildlife on the island.

St. Petersburg – Re-Routing a 1929 Water Main – job consisted of installing 1300 linear feet of 36” water transmission pipe, removing a portion of the old pipeline and reconnecting it at either end.

Peace River Interconnect Project (2013) – Woodurff & Sons, Inc. worked with The Peace River Manasota Regional Water Supply Authority to install 7 miles of 42 inch ductile iron pipe that interconnect with the existing 30 year old system.

River Road and US 41 Intersection Improvements (2015) – Total reconstruction of River Road from two lanes to six and widening of US 41 to provide receiving lanes. Responsible for the construction of the storm water management system along the 3,000 feet of road.

Drew Park Redevelopment (2013 – 2015) – Phase II is installation of approximately 3,900 linear feet of box culvert to alleviate flooding in the 720 acres of Drew Park in partnership with City of Tampa’s Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA). Along with these underground infrastructure improvements, Woodruff installed new curbs, sidewalks, and landscaping.

Harbour Isles (2014-2016) – Woodruff & Sons, Inc. installed all of the utilities, grading, roadwork, sidewalks, and general site development while carefully addressing erosion control and protection of wetland areas.

Bay Street Village and University Groves (2015-2017) – Woodruff & Sons, Inc. worked with D.R.Horton to provide earthwork, site development, erosion control, sanitary and storm sewer systems, water mains, and fire protection, and constructing new roadways in the new residential communities of Bay Street Village and The Enclave at University Groves. At Vilano Estates, a 172 acre site in Sarasota, FL, Woodruff worked on demolition of an old golf clubhouse, dug nine retention ponds, and handle more the 300,000 cubic yards of fill dirt. Additional aspects of the job included building a sewage pump station, installing sanitary, storm, water and irrigation lines, and building over a mile of roadway.**also add Soleli project

Bayside Community Church and St. Stephen’s Episcopal High School – Woodruff & Sons, Inc. worked Willis Smith to install sewer and water mains, performed site grading, install clay for the baseball fields, excavated multiple retention ponds, parking lots and more for the new Moore Athletic Complex at Turner Field on the campus at St. Stephens Episcopal school. Woodruff also worked with Willis Smith to provide grading, sanitary and storm sewer and water mains to the Bayside Community Church along with new parking lots, roadways, sidewalks, curbs, and gutters.

Newsletter 1

Raw Water Intake System – Michigan City (2010) – Woodruff & Sons, Inc. completed a three phase project for the Michigan City Water Department in Indiana. Phases I and II consisted of replacing both the east and west intake pipes from the shores of Lake Michigan to the treatment plant. Phase III required the construction of a new raw water intake access structure over two newly replaced iron pipes on the beach of Lake Michigan.

Indiana Storm-Sanitary Sewer Separation Project – South Bend, IN – Woodruff & Sons, Inc. project to separate the sanitary sewer from the storm water lines.

Newsletter 3

The Gateway to Michigan City – Woodruff & Sons, Inc. worked on the rehabilitation project for Michigan City with the city and INDOT. The project included the removal and demolition and then replacement of all curbs, sidewalks, outside lanes and all center medians. All storm sewer and some sanitary components were replaced with new manholes, inlets, and piping.

Elston Grove Historic District (2013) – Streetscape improvement project with the Michigan City Redevelopment Commission to add new concrete sidewalks, curbs, and gutters, and sanitary sewer and storm water replacement along with new decorative lighting and trees.

Indiana State Prison – Sewer Screening Facility – Woodruff & Sons constructed a new screening building which included new flow meter structure, sanitary sewers and manholes to reroute the prison sanitary sewer flow.
